Scout House ("we," "us," or "our") provides a private app that helps families and caregivers coordinate care for a loved one. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Scout House app (the "App") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Information We Collect
We collect only what is needed to run the App:
- Account information: your name and email address, used to create and secure your account.
- Care information you enter: details you choose to add about a care recipient and your care circle — which may include health-related information such as medications, vital signs, appointments, daily reports, and care notes.
- Content you create: updates, messages, photos, documents, and other content you add to a care circle.
- Care circle membership: the people you invite and their roles, so the right people can access the right information.
- Device notifications: if you enable push notifications, a device token used solely to deliver reminders and alerts you've asked for.
Health Information
Some information you enter (for example, medications and vital signs) is health-related and sensitive. We treat this information with care. It is used only to provide the App's features to you and the members of your care circle. We do not sell health information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How We Use Information
- To create and maintain your account.
- To provide the care-coordination features of the App to you and the people you invite.
- To send reminders, updates, and notifications you have enabled.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App.
No Advertising, No Selling of Data
Scout House contains no third-party advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How Information Is Shared
- Within your care circle: information you add is shared with the members you invite, according to their role.
- Service providers: we use trusted providers (such as our hosting and authentication provider) only as needed to operate the App.
- Legal: we may disclose information if required by law.
Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your information only while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time directly in the App (Settings → Delete Account), which removes your account and associated personal data. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by emailing us at scouthouseapp@gmail.com. We will respond and act within a reasonable time, except where we must retain certain information to comply with law.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard the information you entrust to us.
Children's Privacy
Scout House is intended for adults coordinating care. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated within the App or by other reasonable means.
